After several months devoid of NFL games on television, you’re probably already gearing up for the 2016-17 season, which begins with training camps that start late next month. In addition to the games themselves returning, you can look forward to entertaining halftime shows that will be sponsored by Lexus during the 2016 NFL season. After several consecutive years of success, Lexus recently renewed its deal with the NFL for its fifth season as a halftime sponsor, per Variety.com. The Lexus halftime show will enjoy added exposure, as NBC has been added to the list of networks that will broadcast the games. The three Thursday Night Football networks now include NFL Network, CBS and NBC.
“The Lexus Halftime Show sponsorship on ‘Thursday Night Football’ gives us the opportunity to reach a premium, live-viewing audience in a contextually relevant way by incorporating high impact NFL content,” said Brian Smith, vice president of marketing for Lexus, in a prepared statement. “We’re pleased to renew this partnership, which now also includes NBC in the Thursday night franchise.”
Lexus is looking to reach out to a wider audience, as Thursday Night Football on CBS and NFL Network averaged approximately 13 million viewers last season, an astonishing 61% increase from 2013 when Thursday night games were aired exclusively on NFL Network. With the ever-expanding digital and mobile worlds, Lexus is poised to receive even more attention for its prestigious line of luxury vehicles.
