Lexus’ Bold Streak to Continue with New Track-Ready F Model in Detroit
Lexus proved a long time ago that its renewed push for bolder vehicle designs and tighter handling was more than just lip service, but its lineup is starting to get sportier than many fans would have thought possible. Hot on the heels of the all-new 2015 Lexus RC F sport coupe that went on sale in November, another new high-performance F brand model is set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month.
The only further details we have at this point are in the above teaser photo, which shows the new track-ready car donning similar L-shaped daytime running lights but different headlights than the RC F. With the Lexus RC F housing a 5.0-liter V8 engine that churns out 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque, we also wonder if the new F brand model will feature the same powerplant or take performance to an even higher level.
In fact, we’re filled with anticipation at our Lexus dealership near Fort Lauderdale, FL. Will the new F brand model be like the RC F is to the RC – a juiced-up version of an existing Lexus car like the GS, LS or CT Hybrid? Or, will it be a completely new performance vehicle? Either way, we’ll be waiting with bated breath until the car is revealed on Jan. 13 in Detroit.
