All-New Lexus GS F Is Unleashed at Detroit Auto Show
A couple blog posts ago, we expressed our excitement about the upcoming debut of an all-new Lexus F model at the Detroit Auto Show, and as it turns out, the unveiling did not disappoint. The 2016 Lexus GS F performance sedan was revealed last week in the Motor City, sporting the same 467-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine found in the recently launched Lexus RC F coupe.
Building upon the Lexus GS 350 F SPORT, which adds bold style upgrades and a sportier suspension to regular GS luxury sedans, the 2016 GS F will grant buyers a large black-mesh spindle grille that covers the full height of the front fascia, as well as structural enhancements and an even firmer suspension. Contributing to the performance sedan’s precise cornering will be staggered Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on wider forged wheels and Lexus’ Torque Vectoring Differential featuring two electro-mechanical clutch packs. Meanwhile, the new F model will be further distinguished from its GS brethren by large front air vents, narrower LED headlights and a wider, lower stance.
The GS F’s penchant for adrenaline-pumping fun will be echoed on the inside, with the controls placed within close reach of the driver as if the cabin were the cockpit of a fighter jet. A unique F-branded steering wheel and bolstered sport seats will round out the driver-focused features, while Alcantara trim and a standard 12.3-inch central video monitor with a Remote Touch Interface will provide luxurious comfort and convenience.
We’re already looking forward to the moment the 2016 Lexus GS F arrives at our Florida dealership later this year, but until then, we suggest checking out the aggressively styled Lexus GS 350 F SPORT or the brand-new Lexus RC F performance coupe.
